Introducing the Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos Hermès clock
A crystal sphere.Lined with white enamel, the 10 kilo crystal housing of the clock is made with the complex double overlay technique; several layers of glass are laid over each other, including a coloured layer.
Inside the crystal is the Atmos mechanism, which is wound by minute changes in ambient temperature. That causes expansion or contraction of an alloy bellows which in turns winds the mainspring. The mechanism is extremely efficient – a one degree change in temperature is enough for 48 hours of power reserve.
The retail price of the Atmos Hermès is EUR30,000. And for fans of the Atmos, remember to check out the Atmos by Marc Newson.
