Eterna sold to China Haidian
Bloomberg, citing Swiss business paper Bilanz, reports that Eterna has just been acquired by China Haidian from the Porsche family. Listed in Hong Kong, China Haidian owns Chinese brands Ebohr and Rossini, as well as the recently founded Swiss brand Codex. The same report notes Eterna is the second Swiss brand (as opposed to a movement or component maker) to be purchased by a Chinese group, after Milus was acquired by Hong Kong jewellery retailer Chow Tai Fook (who in turn bought it from bankrupt Hong Kong watchmaker Peace Mark) a few years back. – SJX
