To celebrate the launch of the retro-inspired Polaris collection, Jaeger-LeCoultre has put together a comprehensive exhibition on the watch, charting its history, inspiration and modern day iterations, including the entire five-strong, modern day Polaris line-up inspired by the diver’s alarm watch of 1968.
Only 1714 examples of the original Polaris were made, but such is its cult status that the vintage originals now sell for eye-watering sums, and also why Jaeger-LeCoultre used it as a base for an entire collection of sports watches.
With prices starting from US$6600, the new Polaris collection broadens the brand’s entry-level offerings considerably. The Polaris line focuses on practical, everyday watches, ranging from a time-only automatic with date to a chronograph and world time, as well as an alarm watch that’s the closest to the original Polaris Memovox.
All of those will be on show, along with the top of the line Polaris Geographic Worldtime, a 250-piece limited edition that will be sold exclusively at Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques.
The Polaris exhibition is open daily from 10am to 10pm, and takes place on the ground level atrium of ION Orchard, located at:
2 Orchard Turn
The exhibition runs till July 29, 2018.
