Introducing Luxglove, a Marketplace for Watches and Collectibles

Having just made its debut on the Apple App Store, Luxglove is an online marketplace for pre-owned or vintage items, primarily watches, focused on South-East Asia.

Established by a startup that previously did the same for affordable art, Luxglove is a listing platform for jewellery, art, furniture, as well as timepieces, which currently are the most numerous category. Based in Singapore, the platform is meant to serve the South-East Asian market, a particularly vibrant one for high-end watchmaking.

Though other similar platforms like 1stdibs and Chrono24 exist, Luxglove is the first of its kind in Asia. It’s essentially a smartphone version of a luxury consignment store, but one where the offerings are filtered for quality and legitimacy. All items are first vetted by the Luxglove before they go online. Luxglove offers two options for listing items. “White Glove Service” is all encompassing, with Luxglove handling photography of the item for sale as well as delivery. The other, “Snap & Sell”, is straightforward and as the name implies, users upload their own photos.

Fees for selling on Luxglove vary according to the category, but for watches dealers pay 3% while for private sellers it’s 5%. And the first 100 signups to list on Luxglove will receive complimentary “White Glove Service” with photography and delivery.  More info is available on luxglove.com, while the smartphone app can be downloaded on the Apple App Store.
