Introducing The Bell & Ross BR 01 Skull Bronze Tourbillon, A Unique Piece For Only Watch 2015
Only Watch releases continue apace with the Bell & Ross BR 01 Skull Bronze Tourbillon, featuring a bronze case with a solid gold, hand-engraved skull at its centre.
For the first time Bell & Ross has used bronze for the case of its signature BR 01, an aviation inspired square wristwatch. With the patina that bronze quickly acquires, the case is a perfect fit for the pirate theme of the Bell & Ross BR 01 Skull Bronze Tourbillon, a one of a kind timepiece made for Only Watch 2015.
The dial of the watch is framed by a skull and crossbones-shaped bezel, while the hands are shaped like cutlasses and daggers. At six o’clock sits the flying tourbillon, with a carriage made of pink gold.
Also made of pink gold is the hand engraved skull at the centre of the dial. The time is indicated regulator-style, with the hour hand mounted on the nose of the skill, while the minutes are shown via the large hand in the centre. The two small hands at three and nine o’clock each indicate torque and power reserve.
The movement is hand-wound, with a five day power reserve. It was originally developed by defunct movement specialist BNB Concept, whose team has migrated to Hublot.
Much like a pirate’s treasure, the Bell & Ross BR 01 Skull Bronze Tourbillon is presented in a wood chest.
Taking place on November 7, 2015, Only Watch is dedicated to raising funds for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
