Pre-Basel 2015: Breitling Presents The Colt Chronograph Automatic, The Updated Version Of Its Entry-Level Chrono (Specs And Price)
Breitling gives its entry-level stopwatch a facelift with the new Colt Chronograph Automatic, decked out in recognisable Breitling style with rider tabs on the bezel and a large, polished watch case.
Created in the eighties as a military watch, the Colt has always been a more modestly priced Breitling. Soon to be introduced at Baselworld 2015, the new Colt Chronograph Automatic is similarly intended as an “accessible” timepiece, offering all the typical design elements of the brand at a more affordable price. Powered by the workhorse Valjoux 7750 movement, the Colt Chronograph Automatic has a 44 mm steel case water resistant to 200 m. The unidirectional bezel has a matte, brushed finish, with four polished rider tabs, a signature feature of Breitling since the Chronomat was fashionable in the eighties and nineties.
While the original Colt watches were distinguished by their Arabic numerals and 24-hour markings, this has baton indices giving it a cleaner, but less military, appearance.
Three dial colours, black, blue and silver, are available, as are a variety of bracelets and straps. The movement is COSC certified, as are all Breitling chronographs. The Colt Chronograph Automatic will cost 7620 Singapore dollars or 4990 Swiss francs.
