Girard-Perregaux revived the Laureato at SIHH 2017, bringing back a design conceived in the 1970s.

Joining the line-up unveiled earlier in the year is the Laureato Skeleton that’s equipped with the same calibre GP01800-0006 found in last year’s 1966 Skeleton.

Self-winding and thin at 5.4mm high, the movement has its bridges and base plate skeletonised in geometric shapes, then finished with a dark grey plating. It’s a modern look well suited to the Laureato case.

The case is available in steel or pink gold, both 42mm in diameter and 10.88mm high. The steel model is rated to 100m, while the pink gold version is water-resistant to 50m.

The Laureato Skeleton costs approximately US$32,000 in steel and US$60,000 in gold.
