Introducing The Van Cleef & Arpels Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs For Only Watch
A unique blue dial variant of its clever dual time zone Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs is the Van Cleef & Arpels entry into the Only Watch 2015 line-up.
Introduced last year at SIHH, the Pierre Arpels Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs is a novel, minimalist travel watch: home and local time in the windows at 11 and 5 o’clock respectively, with minutes in between on a retrograde scale. Instead of an ordinary silver dial, the Only Watch edition of the Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs – “the time here and the time elsewhere” – has a deep blue dial. Van Cleef & Arpels recruited Jean-Marc Wiederrecht of complications specialist Agenhor to create this movement. It’s an unsurprising partnership, since Agenhor is best known for its jumping and retrograde displays.
The Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs is double jumping hour with retrograde minutes, powered by an automatic movement with a platinum micro-rotor.
At the top of the hour all three displays – the two hour discs and the minute hand – jump crisply and simultaneously. All three are set via the crown, leaving the case clean and free of buttons. Only Watch 2015 will take place on November 7, 2015.
