A unique blue dial variant of its clever dual time zone Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs is the Van Cleef & Arpels entry into the Only Watch 2015 line-up.
Introduced last year at SIHH, the Pierre Arpels Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs is a novel, minimalist travel watch: home and local time in the windows at 11 and 5 o’clock respectively, with minutes in between on a retrograde scale. Instead of an ordinary silver dial, the Only Watch edition of the Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs – “the time here and the time elsewhere” – has a deep blue dial. Van Cleef & Arpels recruited Jean-Marc Wiederrecht of complications specialist Agenhor to create this movement. It’s an unsurprising partnership, since Agenhor is best known for its jumping and retrograde displays.
The Heure d’ici & Heure d’ailleurs is double jumping hour with retrograde minutes, powered by an automatic movement with a platinum micro-rotor.
At the top of the hour all three displays – the two hour discs and the minute hand – jump crisply and simultaneously. All three are set via the crown, leaving the case clean and free of buttons. Only Watch 2015 will take place on November 7, 2015.Back to top.
